Why Douce Exists
Douce was founded in 2024 by a team that had spent years watching a simple problem go unsolved: too many people were drinking water that was technically available but practically unverifiable. Tap water quality varies enormously across India. Locally produced unbranded packaged water is inconsistent. The large national brands are often out of reach for small distributors and rural retailers.
We set out to build something different — a mid-market, BIS-certified packaged water brand with a short, transparent supply chain. A brand that could be distributed efficiently, priced fairly, and trusted completely.
The name Douce comes from the French word for ‘gentle’ — a reflection of our belief that the best water is the kind you barely notice. Pure, neutral, clean. Nothing added. Nothing removed that shouldn't be.
In our first year, we achieved BIS certification, obtained FSSAI licensing, onboarded our first distribution partners, and launched all three bottle sizes. What we built isn't just a water brand — it's a standard we hold ourselves to every single day.
